Selected data and study scope

This dataset contains RiboTag translatome data from Mus musculus, sampled from whole hypothalamus. The default comparison examines gene expression in CCK-8s relative to Vehicle.

The explorer includes 1 track and 1 comparison for this dataset.

The default track, Oxytocin neurons (RiboTag), includes 4 Vehicle samples and 3 CCK-8s samples in this comparison. These are analysis sample counts. Check the source for biological replication and pooling.

Interpretation and limitations

This preparation profiles ribosome-associated RNA from the targeted cells. Treat the result as a translatome measurement. It does not represent total RNA from every cell in the anatomical region.

Expression values are CPM (TMM-normalized): counts per million on library sizes adjusted by the TMM factors of the study’s own edgeR fit. This scale adjusts for library size and composition, not gene length. Use it to inspect a feature across the samples in this analysis. CPM values are not absolute transcript counts.

Evidence and verification

Pipeline QC passed. Mouse hypothalamic oxytocin neurons — CCK-8s (RiboTag); all 1 registered contrasts on default track oxytocin

Experimental design passed. Mouse hypothalamic oxytocin neurons — CCK-8s (RiboTag); all 1 registered contrasts on default track oxytocin

Author concordance not assessed. Author effect concordance has not been assessed

Pipeline QC can pass while experimental-design limitations remain. Read both assessments before interpreting results.

Open the dataset in the Explorer to read each check and its evidence. Author concordance compares effects for matched genes. It does not require identical author P values or FDR.

Source study

Hypothalamic oxytocin-neuron RiboTag translatome on standard chow, vehicle vs CCK-8s (20 ug/kg i.p., 2 h) — the gut-to-brain satiation arm. The chow-vs-HFHS arm of the same series is deliberately NOT used: oxytocin-neuron IP purity failed in half the HFHS libraries and every IGF-panel gene tracks that purity, which would have produced an artefactual diet effect. Libraries are pools of 2-3 hypothalami (Gruber et al., Cell Rep 2023, PMID 37864798; GSE242245)

Source publication

High-calorie diets uncouple hypothalamic oxytocin neurons from a gut-to-brain satiation pathway via κ-opioid signaling.
