Rat medial preoptic area — early-life adversity (bulk RNA-seq)
Rattus norvegicus · Preoptic area · bulk RNA-seq
Selected data and study scope
This dataset contains bulk RNA-seq data from Rattus norvegicus, sampled from preoptic area. The default comparison examines gene expression in Limited bedding/nesting (P2-P9) relative to Standard housing.
The explorer includes 1 track and 1 comparison for this dataset.
The default track, Medial preoptic area (mPOA), includes 6 Standard housing samples and 6 Limited bedding/nesting (P2-P9) samples in this comparison. These are analysis sample counts. Check the source for biological replication and pooling.
Interpretation and limitations
The measurement combines expression from the cells in the tissue sample. A difference in tissue expression alone does not identify which cell type contributes to it.
Expression values use log2(gene-summed FPKM + 1). Keep this unit when exporting or comparing values. Values on other normalization scales are not directly interchangeable.
Evidence and verification
Pipeline QC passed. Rat medial preoptic area — early-life adversity (bulk RNA-seq); all 1 registered contrasts on default track poa
Experimental design review needed. Rat medial preoptic area — early-life adversity (bulk RNA-seq); all 1 registered contrasts on default track poa
Author concordance review needed. Selected author genes only; lbn_vs_control. P values and FDR are contextual. No numerical acceptance route has passed for this scope.
Pipeline QC can pass while experimental-design limitations remain. Read both assessments before interpreting results.
Open the dataset in the Explorer to read each check and its evidence. Author concordance compares effects for matched genes. It does not require identical author P values or FDR.

Source study
Adult male Long-Evans-rat medial preoptic area after standard housing vs limited bedding/nesting from P2-P9, n=6/6 individually identified animals. Public metadata do not expose litter identifiers, which remains an explicit design caveat (GSE174753)
